According to Rediff, India is the 6th most dangerous place for children in the world. Surprisingly, India ranked above Afghanistan, Palestinian territories, Myanmar and Chechnya.

Hard to believe? Well the criteria included children involved in armed conflict, the psychological trauma experienced by children caught up in violence, the children living in poverty and forced to work to support themselves and their families and malnutrition among children”.

When you factor in 40% of the population under the poverty line, the last three factors would be pretty persuasive. Especially, if the total population is 1.1 billion people.

Its a sad statistic.
